how did you get so close? 
Getting so close was possible because the little thing seemed to be in a shock from either hitting a window pane, or being attackecd by some bigger bird. Whatever'd happened, It didn't mind me getting really close. As you probably know, the siskin are considerably smaller than e.g. sparrows, so it was unusual to get such a close-up it's beauty is much appreciated, even if it is stunned.
