Beautiful and rugged... I've just remembered the other reason why Zakopane didn't impress me (besides the glitz) - it was completely misty and wet when I was there, and I didn't see the mountains at all (I didn't go there to walk, just to see the ';picturesque' town). If the day had been a clear one at least the view would have been lovely I'm sure.
